Link between cProject and Item has been broken

Dear Experts,

I have a situation where the link between cPro and Item has been broken. Basically there was no record found in the RPM_OBJ_LINK with item GUID. This the the reason the item field "Project Mgmt. Template" became blank which is a mandatory field, while we save anything in Item.

Now I want to inactive this item, and the system is not allowing due to this mandatory field. Any idea how to overwrite this standard field so that I can set this item to inactive status.
