Decision Flow Management (DFM) between PPM and PS to ensure that level 2 WBS Elements

Hi SAP Gurus,


Can you please advice can we achieve the below requirement.


Configure Decision Flow Management (DFM) between PPM and PS to ensure
that level 2 WBS Elements (and all WBS Elements below it in the project
structure) are set to status "TECO" once the corresponding decision
point in PPM is set to Status "Complete"

Downloading Files and documents from cFolder to Local Drive

Hi,

 

I have to download files and documents from the cFolder using ABAP Program. Please explain how it can be done.

I could not find any matching API.

 

File maybe in Image,word document or others..

PPM 610 FPM_OIF_COMPONENT don't display custom modifications

Hi Experts

 

we have upgraded the system from PPM 5.0 to PPM 6 SP10 (NW 740), and we our custom settings performed in FPM applications are set but they aren't reflected when entering in NW.

 

Our Custom settings were done as Z copy of standard ones not changes in the standard.

 

Also the SAP theme SAP_TRADESHOW_P is lost and we only can see SAP CORBU.

 

Any idea of how to fix the issue?

Hi

 

 

Does anyone has an idea what could be the cause?

 

After saving the item.... system does not creates the PS project,  an error message "Errors occurred during processing (see error log) is displayed also the "create project on saving" indicators gets unchecked and the project template field greyed out.

 

This is happening for some project templates only, others work fine the PS project gets created.

 

 

already double checked :

 

the relevant switches under "Overwrite default global settings"

Maintained the portfolio item types with correct configuration

Maintained the mappings between item type/PS template

Maintained the object link types correctly

 

This is happening only on our quality and production environment

 

any help on this is appreciated, already tried finding any difference on the PS templates they are same.. even copy of each other

Hello PPM experts,


I am using a recently installed 6.1 version of PPM


I am doing the initial steps of configuring PPM.


We need to execute /n/RPM/CUST_COPY and copy 5 tables from 000 to our current client.


I found that following table did not have any entries

/RPM/DASH_ROLE

Note: All other tables had some entries which got copied successfully


My question is -- why would this table not have any entries to be copied? how can i confirm if this is OK or not OK. Have I missed any step prior to this copy?

New Commitment Value Types in Financial Planning View

Hi,

 

We are able to update the commitments from the WBS level to PPM Project Financial view with Value type as 40 . Now the PR/PO which are created with reference to WBS are also flowing as commitment value type 40 as total . Now we want to display the PR /PO as separate commitment items .

 

We have created new Value types 91 and 92 , but what is the other things to do , so that these commitments are flowed to PPM from the ECC .

PPM - Defining an Alias - Why is this needed? Can we skip this?

Hello All,

 

I have started configuring PPM 6.1 demo system.

 

I came across the following in the Config guide (SAP Portfolio and Project Management 6.1 SP01)

Defining an Alias --

By defining an alias in the HTTP service tree (transaction SICF), you can call the application

using a shorter, mnemonic URL

 

My default PPM URL is http://sapdemo3.local.com:8000/sap/bc/nwbc/

 

My questions

1. Do we define alias just for a shorter (user-friendly) URL?

 

2. Can we skip defining an alias?

 

3. Can some provide me an example of what alias you are using with reference to URL I have given above ? 


PPM - Unable to see HTTP service in SICF

I am unable to see HTTP service in PPM node in SICF.

 

Where should we see this? A screen shot will help.

PPM workflow activation - not getting any action button or menu on screen

Hi All,

 

I am configuring PPM 6.1

 

I need to activate workflows and as per config guide, we do this in SPRO as follows

 

Portfolio Management --> Global Customizing --> Global Settings --> Workflow Settings --> Activate Workflows

 

The screen that opens up is Task Customizing Overview. And I dont see any details under the PPM node.

I was expecting list of workflows with an Activate button/menu.

 

What is to be done on this screen (Portfolio Management --> Global Customizing --> Global Settings --> Workflow Settings --> Activate Workflows)?

Note: when I open up each RPM workflow in SWDD, I find the status as Active.

PPM - Portfolio screen -- 500 SAP Internal Error RABAX_STATE

Hi All,

 

I am accessing PPM 6.1 using browser and get below error for Portfolio screens.

 

500 SAP Internal Server Error

ERROR: The current application has triggered a termination with a short dump. (termination: RABAX_STATE)

 

 

Project Management and Resource Management screen are accessible and do not have any error.

 

I checked in SAP Notes and did not find anything related to PPM module for Internal Error.

 

I have set up currency and time units for both Portfolio and Project (since one SAP note mentions that sometimes error can happen if currency/time is not specified)

I have also posted the ST22 error dump. I have searched on the abap program and not found anything related on scn or sap notes.

I have done /n/RPM/CUST_COPY at the start and all tables had entries except /RPM/DASH_ROLE - this one had 0 entries to be copied. I do not think this is related to the error I am getting since Portfolio was running fine for last 2 days.

 

How can I debug?

Custom field in Initiative Screen -PPM

Dear Experts,

 

There is an requirement where a new field (Proj. Definition) is to be added in the Initiative General Info view , which is done using the configuration. Now on F4 help on this field the data from ECC system should popup. Need to know Is there any configuration available for this requirement.

Also this field has to be mandatory & enabled only for a certain Initiative Type , how can we handle this requirement.

 

Any suggestion will be helpful!!

Can we install PPM RDS halfway through manual configuration?

Hi All,

 

I am configuring PPM 6.1.

 

So far just copied an item type and using default decision points besides configuring values of dropdown like priority and status.

 

Now I am thinking if we can install RDS, can it speed up my configuration activity.

 

Does anyone have experience of installing RDS over a PPM system which is partially configured without any customizing? Can we do this and have the rds run fine? An intelligent guess will help

Hi All,

 

I am configuring PPM 6.1

 

I need to hide all the capacity management (i.e. resource/headcount) related features from end user.

 

I will need Resource function only for admin to create PPM users since we don't have HCM in scope. We are NOT doing an IT PPM implementation.

 

Where can I disable the capacity related tabs and views?  I need just Portfolio and Project.

Create Custom Object Link Type in SAP PPM

Dear Experts,

 

I have a requirement where I need to link PPM system with R3 system to fetch the data for Vendor Master (LFA1-LIFNR) in search help.

In standard PPM there is no Object Link available for Vendor. So wanted to know is it possible to create a custom Object Link

along with the OLR3 Proxy class, Search Help structures etc.

Define Customer Fields for Project

Hi

I want add a tab and customer fields on PPM project.  Below is what I have done.

 

1. SE11 enhance Structure CI_DPR_PROJECT

Below is what I finally get. The tab appears on project level but the fields which I add in the structure is not seen.

Hello,

 

I am new to the issue PPM, so I have some questions:

 

Is there any possibility to import all SAP PS projects to PPM in one step.

 

In SAP Help is mentioned the function of importing one PS project to PPM.
But I have the request to import all PS project we have in our system (about 1500).

 

We want to start to use PPM in our company.

 

How can I import all PS projects to PPM? Is there an guide or documentation?

PPM 6.1 - Need to default category based on classification hierarchy

Hi All,

 

I have defined my classification hierarchy for my portfolio.

 

Based on the selection, I want to default certain Category values.

 

This is in Item screen -- classification tab.

 

Is it possible to define field dependencies i.e. selection of certain value should narrow down selection list in another dropdown, etc?

Unable to edit financial planning info for a bucket

I am unable to edit/add financial planning information for a bucket.

 

I have done the following

I want to set budget (and if possible funding) for the bucket I have created.


I have attached the screen shot. I am thinking if I have missed any authorization since I don't see the Function button enabled.


Note: I will need to integrate with FICO later but as of now I just want to enter data in PPM - financial planning.
