PPM Item DPs & Project Phases are copied twice

Hi All,

My Portfolio Decision Points & corresponding Project Management Phases are copied twice in Item level.

 

for example: I have two Item types 1. NPD-Proposal which gets changed to 2. NPD- Development also at new Item type NPD Development we can create a Project. Once the project is created the Item Decision points and Project Phases are visible twice at Item initial screen

please see screen shot for more details, please let me know as what is wrong ...

At Decision Point 'Design Inputs', we can change the Item type from NPD-Proposal to NPD-Development

Portfolio Structure Graphic incorrect

The Portfolio Structure Graphic tab under Portfolio Structure does not show the correct graphic. It appears to be mixed up and very small, not zoomable. Attached is the screenshot.

All other java related graphics on other Webdynpros seem to work fine.

 

Any thoughts?

Item - Checklist

Dear experts,

 

I have a question related to the checklist. I want to use them in the item. I thought it was not standard but I have checked that there is this standard checklist type  00000000000RPM  - Portfolio Item: Checklist Header

 

Does anyone have any information about this checklist type or about checklist creation from an item?

WF: Checklist item Release, Project information missing in email

Hi

I have coped a workflow template from 28700001 with RELEASED Event of BOR Object Type BUS2174.  This workflow works fine that email can be send and received when checklist item released. But some fileds like Project ID/ Phase Text which was insert from WF Container can not be shown in the email (these fileds in BUS2175 work fine).

What's the problem here? Thanks for your help.

Default Search Help Value of Resourse

Dear Experts

In cProjects resource search help, as shown below, there are several type of search helps.

As cProjects BP role is fixed with type 'Employee'. Is there any way to set a default value of Search help as 'Person with "Employee" Role'?

Importing Microsoft Project to cProjects

Dear Experts

When importing MSP to cProjects, we want to update some information of tasks, such as task description but to keep other information like the assignment of role and resource by the same time.

Howerer, when I update current project with sturcture only, I get the following message. The system deleted and regenerated the tasks. So other information of tasks are missing after importing. I'm wondering does this have anyting to do with the mapping fields between MSP and cProjects.

Thanks for any clue. We are using PPM5.0.

Task Link in the workflow.

Hi Team

 

Presently, we have a standard project template/structure and each of them have the respective task. In that task, we are assigning a resource and when the task is released, the workflow is triggered to the respective person with the link to open the dashboard of the project/task.

 

I would like to know instead of the dashboard, is it possible to open the task associated to the project directly via the email. Our developer isn't able to identify to pass the parameters of the Task/Project in the email.?

 

Anyone has experience or have this working for them?

Error When Openning Project Url Link

Dear experts

 

We are using DPR_API_UI_GET_URL to get an project's url link.

input

     IV_NEW_SESSION = 'X'

 

get

I put this url into internet explorer, fill the logon information. But I get the following error.

Object 000AF74F05741ED4959FA70000000000 does not exist

Error

No object of object category 'Project' exists for GUID 000AF74F05741ED4959FA70000000000

Info.

Original language and logon language are invalid, open in default lang. - Display Help

 

As you can see, GUID in the error message is neithor the same as which I input nor as in the url address.

Item creation from an item template

Hello all,

 

1 ) I have an issue during creation of an item using an item template.

After selecting the bucket and the item template, i click on Continue and in the next screen, message error " Select an item type" shows up.


I have created the item template (so  it is link to an item type and a bucket) and i set the status "Active".

I also mapped it to project templates thinking it could maybe help somehow... but it didn't !

 

Any ideas ?

 

2) I have also an issue regarding creation of a project in PS from a Portfolio item (so without Project management). I have created an item type which is linked to PS Project system and i mapped this item type to a PS project template coming from PS.

 

I can select the right project template when i check the box "create project on saving", i save, and when i go in PS check the project, i cant found it.

Is there any DFM settings i have to configure ?

Hi PPM Gurus,

 

Has anyone upload data using scenario Portfolio Item-PS Project using Transaction Code: RPM_DX_ITEM transaction with Excel upload? We have PS template (PS Project) created and mapped with Item template.

 

We currently facing an issue either to use RPM_DX_ITEM using foreground or background? Foreground took a lot time and not sure how to use background?

 

Has any comes across excel upload using background job? and procedure where Portfolio Item excel file should kept in so that standard upload program will read.

asking for user id and password in cFolders

Hi,


My Client Using SRM 7-PPS . Bidders are unable to open the cFolders, while opening the Tech RFx , system asking for user id and password .


User ID and Password not desirable....they want direct access with out user id and Pw .


please explain why it is asking for user id & Password.


iam attaching screen shots for you reference.


Please guide me how to resolve this issue...

500 SAP Internal Server Error

Hi All,

 

When a SAP_BPR_PPM (SAP Portfolio and Project Management PFCG role for NW BC) Role is used and when accessing the Project Management--->Projects. I am getting the following ERROR: Secure Storage: Entry was created with another SID (termination: ERROR_MESSAGE_STATE).

 

If anyone who has come across such errors.

Preventing only deletion (& not creation) of a project element

Dear PPM Experts,

 

We havefollowing requirement with reference to PPM project authorizations.

 

Project participant should be able to add a new project element (e.g. task, checklist item etc.) but should not be able to delete an existing element in the project.

 

By providing ‘Admin’ access via ACL (access control list), the participant gets ability to both Create & Delete an element.

 

Is there any standard way to prevent only deletion (& not creation) of a project element ? For example, via Security (PFCG) role / authorization object?

 

If enhancement is inevitable, which BAdI would work best?

'Billing Element' tick for PPM related WBS Elements

Dear PPM Experts,

 

When a PS project is created from a PPM project (using 'Flag for Transfer' status) the WBS element is getting created with 'billing element' indicator checked. Is this a standard system behaviour or I am missing somthing?

 

We do not want the PPM related WBS elements to get created as billing elements. What could be the way to avoid this?

 

In other words, ss there a standard way to make 'billing element' option unchecked, by default for the PPM related PS projects (i.e. projects having project profile CPR0001)?

archived BP should not be staffed in resource tab

Hi,

 

While doing resource staffing in resources tab, system is allowing to staff a BP even it is archived. I shud restrict an archived BP been staffed. I can do it programatically, but what i believe is SAP it self shud not allow a archived BP from staffing. Is there any standard way of doing this, any customization required?

 

Any idea on this?

Change decision point status without locking project.

Hi All,

 

I Need to programaticaly Change the decision Point Status without locking the Project. I am using the function module /RPM/Decision_Point_modify but it Needs to lock the Project as well. Is it technically feasble to Change the DP Status without locking the Project.

PPM Phase type dependent field setting

Hi All,


We are working with PPM 6.0. We have done field setting depending on portfolio type.


We just met a new issue in the next step. We want to apply the same strategy when working with PPM project (cProject), but instead of using project type dependent field... we would need to work with 'Phase type' dependent fields.


We have seen there's a way of defining fields depending on PPM objects, so we would be able to differentiate fields for phases, tasks, ... but we can't find where to specify it for a specific phase type.
